Hello Artists,

Coatesville Area Arts Alliance (C3A) has been asked by the Pennsylvania Arts Experience to contact artists we know of in Chester County about a business opportunity. The Arts Experience is a 4-yr.-old grass roots nonprofit organization that initially received its start-up funding from the state, with the goal of promoting the arts along the scenic river valleys of southeastern Pennsylvania. It hopes to establish an internationally recognized arts destination by marketing a membership of creative artists, artisans, and other venues such as museums, lodgings and restaurants through an Artist Trail, print media, its website and regional Arts Orientation Centers. It has already created the Susquehanna Arts Trail --York to Lancaster-- and its headquarters just opened last fall on Gallery Row (Prince Street) in Lancaster.

The Trail is a concierge service to help connect tourists and area locals to you--where you produce, display, and sell your work. This is a great marketing alternative to schlepping your work hither and yon.

The Arts Experience now wants to extend this Arts Trail into Chester County with the Brandywine Arts Trail, with the goal of extending through Montgomery and Bucks Counties with a Schuylkill Arts Trail, ending in New Hope. To help move project forward, PA Arts Experience co-founder Cynthia Hinkle asked us to organize a meeting of interested artists in this area. The first meeting was in December. Now a second meeting is scheduled.

We think this is a valuable concept created by art activists who want to see a change in the art business--a new business model for a new art economy. We endorse this concept and C3A president Greg Layton became a member after the first meeting.

So if you are serious about getting your name out there in these tough times, consider attending to hear Cynthia's presentation to see if this is for you.
